Welcome Mical Allyn Loudermilk!!

Well... I THOUGHT Mical was getting too comfortable on Wednesday after my Dr's appointment but boy was I wrong! I had a great last day at work and was really looking for some Jane time before this sweet baby arrived! I was able to go home relax on the couch, work on some homework and get ready for dinner with a great friend. I headed out to dinner that evening around 6:00 to eat dinner with some good girlfriends. Around 7:00 when we arrived at dinner no more did it take me to get out of the car, my water broke. At first I had NO IDEA what was going on but soon realized it was my water and nothing else.

After getting a hold of Jonathan his and my family, I headed to the hospital straight from the Piggly Wiggly bathroom, which is about is far as I made it after the water broke. Got to the hospital, got checked in and the nurses checked and it was in fact my water that had broken. This is when the nerves and excitement set in. I was about to become a MOM!

It was a LONG night. I was able to get my epidural around 11 or 12:00 that night and that really helped me sleep until my Dr arrived around 7:30. I was dilated able to start pushing around 9:45 and Mical arrived at 10:15.

Mical weighed 8 pounds 1 oz and was 21.5 inches long. He is absolutely perfect in every way. He looks a whole lot like his daddy and after a rough day yesterday of getting feedings and such in order we are now home and settling in nicely.

Thank you so much to everyone's kinds words of love and encouragement. We are so blessed to have such an incredible family and friends. Here are some pictures of our little man! I just picked a few... we have SO many great ones!

Too Comfortable!

Well Baby Milk must just be getting pretty comfortable in there because I went to the Dr again today and not much progress. Measured in at 1.5 cm dilated about about 80% effaced. We are making SOME progress but not a whole lot. Dr. Barron said that once I completely thin (100%) then the dilating will go pretty quick. She questioned about being induced this coming Monday, but I said no because I would like to go into labor naturally. Babies heart beat was a strong 152 bpm and obviously just really content where he/she is right now! I go back to see Dr Barron on Monday and if there is little progress made we will talk about possibly inducing on Monday, April 4th... or sometime that week. Thanks for all the prayers! We will keep you all posted!

37 Weeks

Well today was our 37 week appointment and it went really well!!! Group B strep test came back positive but I am not worried at all because apparently 40% of women are carriers and it never shows until labor! Just means I have to have an IV with antibiotics when I deliver. But anyways... Baby Milk continues to grow longer and longer everyday! I am still only 1 cm dilated and thinned to 70%. SO things have progressed slightly but not too much :) Dr. Barron says that if by the next two weeks I have not progressed any and want this baby out.. I can go ahead and induce. I am trying to stay away from that since I want to go into labor naturally. But we shall see.. Baby Milk may have other intentions ;) Headed back to the Dr next week!! Pray for progress!!!

Here we Go!!

Well... Today was the 36 week appointment. It is the beginning of my weekly appointments. It was a GREAT appointment. I had my Group B Strep test, which I will get the results back next week at the next appointment. Not too worried about this, just if it comes back positive will have to have antibiotics during labor. Anyways.. Dr. Barron says that I am 1 cm dilated and about 60% effaced. Things are starting to progress nicely. Babies head is REALLY low causing all my preterm pains but this should help when I go into actual labor. Will keep you all posted on how things progress. Dr says can't give a very good time line since every woman's body is different and everyone progresses differently! So here's to eggplant Parmesan, spicy foods and LOTS of walking!!
